The Belay Rescue 8 Personal Descender is a compact 8 with "ears" and a unique curved profile.

Holes in the ears are designed to decrease the head caused by rope friction during a descent. The extra-large bottom hole allows for the clipping of two carabiners. Choose black or red.
NFPA specs (1983 5.5.3) are: 

For light use: 3007lbs 
For general use: 5000lbs

Belay Rescue 8 Personal Descender exceeds these numbers with a strength of 6075lbs.

    The Perfect Rescue ""8""

    Tried it out on my tallest chairlift tower, and it's very comfortable. Perfect descender for my belt-pack. Small and light. Probably would not work well w/large diameter ropes, and certainly not an everyday tool for riggers and such. But PERFECT for rescue kits, such as firefighters, ski patrol, or the occasional weekend repel for fun.
