All models feature an overhead valve engine that delivers incredible reliability. The 18” and 21” Tempest Direct-Drive Power Blowers™ are the most popular PPV units in the world.

Tempest gasoline powered blowers provide more horsepower than electric blowers. The increased air velocity, higher air volume, and higher air pressure provided by a gasoline blower results in faster ventilation.

They require no generator or power cord lays which results in faster setup. Tempest direct-drive blowers are designed to provide the best value for fire and industrial applications. The direct-drive design allows for a smaller package and a lighter weight unit.

Vibration problems that are common to most direct-drive blowers have been virtually eliminated due to the use of higher quality, four cycle gas engines, more precisely balanced and engineered impellers and vibration absorbing, spring loaded rear "feet".

Engine Options
Tempest offers four-cycle Honda or Briggs & Stratton engines that exceed EPA standards and are California Air Resource Board Approved (CARB).

The Honda engine is by far the most requested engine due to its reputation for reliability and durability. Recently, Briggs engines have been converted to an overhead valve configuration that gives them reliability that rivals the Honda at a lower price.

All gasoline engines are equipped with side exhaust outlets to help keep most of the exhaust emissions out of the air stream. All engines are also adapted to accept optional Tempest Exhaust Hose that pipes exhaust fumes up to twenty feet away from the blower intake.

AirFlex Composition Impeller
Uniquely designed impellers deliver maximum air volume (CFM), velocity and pressure from each Tempest Power BlowerTM. Every size and type of fan features a blade designed specifically for it to deliver the greatest performance possible.

Composite blades are much safer than traditional metal blades as they are designed to disintegrate upon impact of any foreign objects. Metal blades may fragment when integrity is compromised, potentially causing severe injury.

Welded Steel Roll Cage Frame
Every bend and cross brace weld is structurally engineered to increase the blower frame’s strength to weight ratio by as much as 30%. Welds eliminate the need to continuously maintain/tighten nuts and bolts. Its roll cage design gives protection to all angles and sides of the shroud and motor.

Ergonomic Design
Exclusive frame design makes it convenient to lift, carry and transport. Numerous points on the frame double as lifting/carrying handles. The design itself is the result of three decades of testing, research and experience to create the most ergonomic platform possible.

Foot Operated Tilt Adjustment
No levers to set or knobs to tighten when setting the angle for PPV/PPA. Foot operated adjustment is quick, easy and secure. Allows for up to 5 (4 on 16” models) tilt positions: -5°, 0°, +5°, +10°, +15°.

No Brakes to Lock
No brakes to forget to lock down or unlock. This positive pressure ventilation fan rests on anti-vibration spring feet for stability and prevents “walking.”
